Iraqi women walk past patrolling Iraqi police personnel in the southern city of Amara.I was reading this piece on Time Magazine about a female suicide bomber who killed herself at a checkpoint last year in Iraq.

The Time piece goes on to say that she didn’t do it for religious reasons, she did it to complete the mission her brother had undertaken to blow up the checkpoint several months before.

I have to agree with fellow blogger, JayzeeBird. Part of the problem here is that they carry out the attacks. But the other problem is that they just have such low regard for human life. Link to Jayzee’s post: http://jayzeebird.wordpress.com/2008/06/23/the-stupid-woman-did-it/

From reading the article, I have to say I don’t understand what really motivated this woman or her brother. One thing is for certain, though, if our troops weren’t there, then all these people would still be alive.
